The birth and development of science and technology is to better serve mankind. The development of artificial intelligence technology is becoming more and more mature, especially in the application of English teaching, which promotes the reform, development and modernization of English teaching. This paper analyzes the connotation of AI technology and the application of artificial intelligence technology in English listening, writing, translation and oral teaching.
In the new era, artificial intelligence technology has made an important breakthrough in the field of education and teaching. At present, the accuracy of artificial intelligence speech recognition technology, which is in the leading position in the world, has reached a very high level. This speech recognition technology is widely used in all aspects of our life. In addition, language translation, speech synthesis, speech testing, speech conversion, voiceprint recognition and other artificial intelligence technologies are also closely related to language learning. In modern society, machines can not only understand people's words, but also give full feedback to people's words. Artificial intelligence has brought new ideas and breakthroughs to human learning methods, but also challenges and opportunities to all aspects of teaching
Artificial intelligence crosses many different domains, including fields such as computer vision (think self-driving cars which can distinguish a pedestrian from a signpost) and predictive analytics (think about the Face book timeline, which predicts what story you want to see next based on what you’ve clicked on before). In fact, a more helpful term for thinking about what artificial intelligence can do is machine learning. Machine learning is when humans (generally data scientists) use large data sets to train computers to make models which predict the outcome of some future event. This could be the likelihood of it being safe for a self-driving car to make a left turn, or - to use a language learning example - the likelihood that a student will know how to translate the word chien into English.
When you look at machine learning in more detail, it is fundamentally statistics. When we talk about AI, we are often referring to the power of simple, well-established mathematical formulas to make accurate predictions. These techniques have been around for centuries in some cases; what has changed is our access to the computing power to automate calculations and use them in innovative new ways such as self-driving cars, personalised content recommendations or adaptive learning systems.
First of all, AI is a fascinating topic, and one which can provide rich discussion in conversation classes. There are fantastic resources online for explaining what AI really are if you want to discuss the technical implementation of tools like machine learning. Alternatively, there are some intriguing visions of dystopian futures or concepts such as the singularity that make for lively debate topics.

From a practical point of view, how can students benefit from language learning that exploits the potential of AI?

Consequently, if adequately integrated within a course of study with clear learning objectives, AI can increase student engagement. Activities will no longer be based on the principle of one-size-fits-all but will be tailored to the individual learner

In the era of information education, the main link in teaching is to implement quality education, improve the quality of education and teaching, and expand the amount of information in classroom teaching. Research by authoritative experts shows that “sight and hearing are the main organs of student learning.” The use of information technology to teach can greatly change the amount of information that students receive. Teachers highly recognize the role of artificial intelligence. 52.1% of teachers think that artificial intelligence is very helpful to the professional development of teachers, 32.3% of teachers think that artificial intelligence is more helpful to their professional development, and 12.5% of teachers are more comfortable with artificial intelligence. The recognition of intelligence is average, and only 3.1% of teachers believe that artificial intelligence is not helpful to their professional development. In general, as an inevitable trend, artificial intelligence will develop and grow in education and teaching
Thanks to AI used for learning a new language, learners will be able to study from any place in the world at their own pace, set their own goals, and follow a customized syllabus. Plus, AI will help develop engaging games, quizzes, and other learning and exploratory activities that combine programs of study with students’ interests.
